Let's Learn About Value with Mr. Paul!

About This Video

Learn about value with Mr. Paul! This 11 minute video will introduce the basic principles of shading in a kid-friendly way. Viewers will learn art words like value, value scale, light source, and shadow. We will start by making a value scale. Then we will do a practice drawing of a sphere, choose a light source, and then shade it in using all the values from the value scale. Lastly, we will make a drawing of whatever we want, and shade it in so it looks realistic!

During this video, we will also look at works by Johannes Vermeer, Edward Hopper, and Francisco de Zurbarán for inspiration.
