Artist Interviews: Veridiques Art
Today we are excited to welcome Veridiques Art to the AMU Blog! He is a young Haitian multidisciplinary artist, actor, and freelancer who started drawing at age five, and restarted again in 2016. Thank you for taking the time to share some inspiration with the Art Makes Us community!
AMU: What’s your favorite medium?
Veridiques: My favorite medium is digital painting because I feel more flexible with it and I can create art while changing things.
AMU: What inspires you?
Veridiques: I am inspired by everything I see and especially the art of the 16th century. I am a bit of a perfectionist and I am inspired by Afro culture and my culture too, namely Haitian culture.
AMU: What are your artistic goals for the future?
Veridiques: My goal is to inspire as many people as possible through what I do and to be an emblematic model for future artists.
AMU: What is one piece of art advice you were given that has always stuck with you?
Veridiques: The best advice I have received to exist through my art is to continue to improve myself.
AMU: If they made a film about your life, who would play you?
Veridiques: If they made a movie of my life, I would play myself - without trying to be someone I am not, and continue to be the authentic person that I am.
AMU: What famous artist would you love to meet?
Veridiques: Kehinde Wiley, Manzi Jackson, Sam Spratt, and Kevin A. Williams (WAK)
AMU: What do you wish you knew when you started?
Veridiques: When I started I always wanted to know how to draw professionally, and over time I saw that it was just a matter of working and being consistent.
AMU: What’s your favorite color?
Veridiques: Blue and black.
AMU: If you had an artistic superpower what would it be?
Veridiques: If I had an artistic super power, it would be to boost my creativity even more and to make people's lives better through my art.
AMU: Where can people go to see your work?
Veridiques: You can find me on Foundation - Veridiques_art, Instagram - @Veridiques_art, and YouTube - Veridiques_art.
