About This Video
Learn about drawing self-portraits with Mr. Paul! This 10 minute video will introduce the basic principles of drawing a human face in a kid-friendly way. Viewers will learn art words like self-portrait, symmetrical, and line of symmetry. We will practice drawing guidelines for the eyes, nose, and mouth in different positions. Then we will draw our own self-portrait. Viewers will learn how to do a graphite transfer so they can make multiple copies of the same drawing and color them in different styles.
During this video, we will also look at works by Leonardo Da Vinci, Vincent Van Gogh, Pablo Picasso, Frida Kahlo, Artemisia Gentileschi, Egon Schiele, Andy Warhol for inspiration.
