Join artist Paul Richmond for a fun and expressive portrait painting workshop in this pre-recorded two hour and seven minute video course. This workshop is a fun opportunity to try a new approach to painting the portrait. Paul's technique involves using a palette knife to spread thick layers of oil paint, creating texture, energy, and movement within the piece. Paint along or watch as Paul creates a portrait in his signature style from start to finish in two hours. Developing your own individual style/approach will be encouraged. No artistic experience is necessary! Note: This workshop was recorded during a live workshop with participants on Zoom.

Materials

These are the recommended materials for this workshop with links to Blick Art Materials. It isn't necessary that you have these exact brands, and you are welcome to work with other mediums if you'd prefer. The topics covered in this workshop can be practiced with any 2D medium of your choice.

• One larger stretched canvas (Paul will be using 24" x 30")

• Oil paints, medium (may also substitute acrylic paint)

• Odorless Turpenoid
