Join artist Robert Burcar for a hands-on watercolor painting workshop for adults and teens 15+!
Do you have a desire to learn or improve your watercolor painting skills? If so, you’ve come to the right place! Whether you’re a true beginner or want to refresh your current painting skills, this workshop will teach you the basic skills you need to know in order to be a successful, confident and skilled watercolor painter. It will also help break some of the myths about watercolor and replace them with a better understanding of the medium. There are many benefits to watercolor: it’s a very relaxing and travel-friendly medium that doesn’t require a big set up. Watercolor is also a great prerequisite to additional mediums such as acrylic or oil painting. This workshop will briefly cover basic topics including materials, setup, various painting techniques, troubleshooting, basic drawing and color mixing leading up to a watercolor painting project of your choice.
Materials
The materials listed below are just suggestions. The instructor will be demonstrating using these items, but you are welcome to work with any materials that you'd like.
Several sheets or a roll of cheap paper towels
Optional - Tiny spray bottle for easy palette clean up
Optional - Hair Dryer to speed up drying time
1-2 photo references of a simple subject you’d like to paint from such as a landscape, still life, portrait, wildlife etc. The photo can be of something abstract and non representational as well.
