Description
Join artist Briden Schueren for an altered book workshop for adults and teens 15 and older. Learn various techniques for transforming an existing book into an expression of your creativity! An altered book is an original work of art that uses an existing, printed book as its foundation. There are a variety of techniques that can be used in this process, and this class will provide a very open-ended exploration into some of those possibilities. You might choose to add paint, collage, or stamps - or cut the book and turn it into something more sculptural. Briden will demonstrate numerous approaches, and you can choose whatever options work best for you!
Materials
You can use almost anything to create an altered book, but you do need a book to start with. Hardbound books with sewn spines work best. Whatever size feels right to you. Find an old book on your shelf or visit your local thrift store.
